Eames Wire Mobiles by Jade Oakley
October 14th, 2008 § 3 Comments
Jade Oakley is an Australian artist who works in the rather unusual medium of wire mobiles. Living Edge commissioned Jade to create two mobiles for our Alexandria showroom, both inspired by Charles and Ray Eames. Jade had complete freedom to come up with her own response to the brief and created the two wire mobiles below. They are notoriously difficult to photograph, but Sydney photographer Anthony Pearse has done a great job, the photographs create beautiful compositions in their own right.
Jade is in the process of updating her website, we’ll let you know when it is complete. In the meantime, enjoy these photographs and keep an eye out for them next time you visit our Alexandria showroom.
UPDATE: Jade’s new website is now up and running, see www.jadeoakley.com.au

Thanks for your comment on indie art & design, Lauren. We’ve been working hard on Jade’s web site & thought you’d also like to know that selected pages from her sketchbooks, including her ideas for the Eames mobile (for Living Edge), can be viewed at http://www.jadeoakley.com.au/sketchbook-categories/eames-sketches…
